You can make new disks from the NOW site, or you can go to maintenance mode ( be sure to get your license keys off it first ( rsh ) and then change the root password in the maintenance menu.

I have a F740 with 4 FC9 7x36G shelves that I'm prepping for putting up for sale, and want to scrub the old corporate data off of it. Unfortunately, the root password is long since been lost, and the OnTap diskettes are not available (in the ex-wife's house in a bitter divorce, d'oh!).
Is there any way to recover the root password somehow without the original floppies; I'm even willing to pooch all the data, since I want it scrubbed anyway.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. As it is, the unit is just one deafening white noise generating, air blowing, heating system. :(
Thanks.
