Hi Alexander,
I ran into the problem you described on a FAS2650 HA pair with the following LEDs on on one node (all other LEDs were off):
SP snae-bruntp07-01*> system led show 1 FRU LED ID 1 is on SP snae-bruntp07-01*> system led show 3 FRU LED ID 3 is on. Set by SP SP snae-bruntp07-01*> system led show 16 FRU LED ID 16 is on
And no signs of any problems from the CLI environment commands in ONTAP and the SP.
As per a suggestion on this thread, I performed a halt -s on the node and reseated both the controller module and two PSU modules. After a boot and giveback the LEDs are now cleared. Good luck!
Best regards, Filip

Hi,
just as a follow up – I upgraded the FAS2240 to 8.2.4P5 including all the SP firmware update etc. and the LED was still on; I also halted the systems each and LED was still on, but on 8.2.4P5, the FRU LED commands changed and showed different values.
On the filer in question, it now showed „NV-DIMM“ error LED on one controller and then I openend up a support case (remember, previously it was „SP interconnect error“).
Support walked me through a few commands and had me send some Autosupports and we finally agreed that there is no error and we have reset the LEDs then and since then they’ve been off and I hope it will stay like this J
Next up: FAS2650 which still hast he LED turned on without any obvious reason to me, so I think I’ll also open up a case on this one unless someone has a good idea…
Best,

On the node that has LED on. If both are affected, you can do this one after another with usual takeover/giveback.

Yah, read that – but what I’m unsure about: Do both nodes need to be halted at the same time (aka downtime for the customer) or can I do them one after the other?

In 7-Mode "halt -s" was known to clear stray alarm LED. Not sure what is equivalent in C-Mode.

Hi,
the LED is still on and I guess it should have been fully charged by now if this would have been the issue.
So, any other ideas besides opening a case?
Regarding the FAS2240 I mentioned in my initial e-mail:
SP netapp1*> system fru led show 0
FRU LED ID 0 is off
SP netapp1*> system fru led show 1
FRU LED ID 1 is on
I did google a bit for this symptom and therefore updated the SP firmware to the latest compatible one for my ontap version (2.1.3P2), but that did not fix the issue.
Any fix for this symptom except for halting both nodes?
Best,

Maybe that has changed with OnTap 9.1? I’m running 9.1RC2 here on this filer and not because I’m brave, but because it got shipped with it J

Hmm, expected it to look like this listing charge voltage. Current and hours it can hold
