F740 Poor Network Performance.

Dear All, I have a F740 running Ontap 6.1.1R2 with 1 Gigabit and 2 100Mbps ethernet ports. I am seeing very poor performance on these hosts from Sun and Linux clients, running Solaris 8 and Rh 7.3(2.4.20-ac2) I am trying to dd a 200M file and i would like to check if the bottleneck caused is because of poor disk or network performance. Thorsten, Be careful with the way you word things. Saying "the data will move to the snapshot area" implies that data is actively copied out like in other vendors snapshot implementations (Compaq/HP Virtual Replicator, EMC SnapView, etc) which would generate a negative performance impact and the potential for snapshot failure, which are two issues that are suffered by the other vendor products. The disks in the DC-12 shelf are located like this(front left to right). 15 14 13 12 11 10 09 08 03 02 01 00 If the disk is already failed, you don't need to do it again. Check the message section of your autosupport-mail to find out which disk is failed. Remember to run "disk swap" before changing disks. Disk numbering order in SDS12 ?

Hi I have a fail disk in a SDS12 shelf but unfortunately the LED has gone to amber color and I wonder how disks are numbered into the shelf ? I think it is from 0 to 11 from left to right when looking in front of the shelf , am I right ? the disk has been declared no good for I/O by the filer and I have the replacing part and I have another question the doc tell us to declare the disk failed by the disk fail <disk_name> command , ok but ... what is the name of the disk ? Hi Paul, you don't have to worry about any snapshot settings before deleting a qtree. The blocks in your qtrees are already marked as belonging to serveral snapshots if the data already exists for some time (what I assume). Once this has happened you can't do anything about it. If you delete your qtrees, the data will move to the snapshot area. The remaining qtrees are not affected. Deleting qtree

Hi, Just after any information of what is the best way to delete a qtree. My problem is this - I have a volume about 1TB which has 5 qtrees, I want to delete 2 qtrees but keep the snapshots of the 3 remaining.
