SVM Admin Access

Toasters, I work with a team of Windows Server admins who are open to provisioning their own storage but strongly prefer a GUI. I'd like to provide this ability by granting System Manager access to the specific SVM's that host their resources. Much to my chagrin, it doesn't appear RBAC allows for System Manager access to particular SVMs. Instead, privileges must be granted at the cluster level which of course means those privs are effective for all data SVMs (this is a non-starter). Per NetApp docs, my only option appears to be SVM level RBAC privs via SSH. Not quite the GUI option they are looking for but, organizationally, we're making a push for more automation and use of Ansible so it's not completely out of the question. Is there an angle Im not considering that would allow for SVM level access via System Manager? Has anybody else come up with creative ways to address this problem? I'd love to hear from you. Any Openstack/Netapp FAS deployments w cinder NFS, v3 or v4

Greetings, Just reaching out for experiences on Openstack deployments with Netapp NFS. Are you using the default v4 or have switched the mount options to v3? We have a pretty good base of ISCSI, but based on performance and manageability are considering making the jump. Speaking of NFSv4, outside of openstack has anyone made any large deployments? Is it as solid as v3? using uid/gid, is anyone using sec=krb5? Regards, Douglas

Netapp and InteliSNAP comvault backup

Does anyone use intelisnap comvault backaup and replies only on snapshot as their primary backup with no other means?Any advice or "horror" story to tell?Please let me knowIluhes(a)yahoo.com

ldaps for 7-mode

Greetings, Is there a way to configure ldaps on a 7-mode cluster (8.1 vintage)? Our servers will be requiring a self signed certificate and port 636. I'm not seeing the method to import a certificate on 7-mode. We have an old cluster at a remote site used for some specific purposes. Upgrading and replacing it are not in the future plans. I was thinking about possibly a proxy server that does use ldaps:636 that it points to? Hi, Does "if" curly braces still work in 9.6? In diag mode I'm getting this error when trying to use them. cluster::volume efficiency*> modify -vserver vserver -volume * {-compression false} -compression true Error: "-compression false" was not expected. Please specify -fieldname first.

Just checking, does "-sort-by" still work? cluster::*> storage aggregate show -aggregate * -fields usedsize,size,percent-used -sort-by percent-used Error: invalid argument "-sort-by"

SFP Compatibility - QLogic CNA 8324 / 9.3.x / FAS2552

I am wondering if anyone has had any luck using FS.com or other generic SFP. If unsure, same question for a genuine Cisco GLC-T SFP. Unfortunately, I am limited to a 1g copper switch here. FS.com says the Cisco Compatible GLC-T generic adapters they have will work in a QLogic CNA 8324 but could not confirm specifically in a Netapp. Does qual_devices greenlist specific SFP as it does disks? slot 0: Fibre Channel Target Host Adapter 0d (QLogic CNA 8324 (8362) rev. 2, <LINK NOT CONNECTED>) Firmware rev: 8.7.0 Flash rev: 2.1.0 Thanks Toasters, --Jordan
