SMVI 1.0.1

I have ESX 3.5 rev2 (don't quote me on the rev, but we are 1 rev back from the latest esx 3.5.x), running SMVI 1.0.1 on our Virtual Center host (windows 2003 R2 sp2). We are testing SMVI 1.0.1 on our 6030's running ontap 7.24 via FCP. We are able to take snapshots at the datastore level. When we go to restore, here is what we are doing: taking a snapshot (love snapshots, they work real fast, etc) Once completed, we snapmirror to another filer via SMVI (no big deal so far) We delete a windows VM (again, simulating OH NO YOU DIDN"T delete that vm....) Go to do a restore of a vm via thees instructions: http://now.netapp.com/NOW/knowledge/docs/SnapManager/relsmvi_10/html/softwa… successfully completed :jumping: wait, no VM appears in my VIC :,( I can go to the vmdk and right click and add to inventory, but our VAR said this is not how it should work. I called support, and they said it should be fixed in version 2. Sounded fishy, but support is usually right on. Design Parameters

Hello All I have recently been transferred to the designing side of storage...Can you guys guide me on where to start from...??? Any good guide/best practices to start with ... ??? i have heard that when you place a filer order with NetApp, they send you a design/cabling document... to help connect the active/active configuration (as ordered) ...is it so??? lun config_check error

hello, we have a clustered FAS6070 , running in single image cfmode. a solaris machine can no longer access luns presented from filer. on running config check i get this error; vhe-cl6n2> lun config_check The following FCP HBAs appear to be down 0a LINK NOT CONNECTED 0b LINK NOT CONNECTED Local FCP nodename does not match the cluster partner's FCP nodename. any ideas on resolution would be appreciated.

Hi, i tried that as well, but again, Spec says a FAS6030A has 4 CPU with single-core (http://www.spec.org/sfs97r1/results/res2006q2/sfs97r1-20060425-00258.html) but a poster i have from netapp says it has two and cluster has 4. So still i am unsure... 7.3 and MacOSX

After a recent upgrade to 7.3, we have noticed all/many of our MacOSX clients banging the crap out of the filer that hosts their home directories (over NFS). (The ops are 75% NFS v3 lookups and 25% access calls.) Anybody else seen anything similar? It's definitely SpotLight that is the cause, but other than the filer OS change, the Mac clients have not changed one bit. It's almost as if the Macs think they have an entirely new volume/filesystem to catalog. Until next time...
