Tim,
No, we are not doing NFS backups. We have an NT box as a trusted host
and the NetApp disks appear as shares on that NT box (which is also the
NT server with the tape drives attached.
This is the same model as for Unix.
Now, when I do the backups, I am essentially backing up an NT box, so
all ACL's are preserved.
The only problem is that Omniback seems to skip about 25% of the data, with
no error messages or anything. Using the regular Backup software that comes
with NT works fine.
Seen anything like this?

NDMP. NFS backups WILL NOT preserve ACL's. We have the same
problem and the only solution my research has come up with is to switch
to an NDMP capable backup software and connect the tape library
straight to the filer.
