We bought a spare F740 chassis instead of the chassis spares kit for several reasons, two of which are: if something blows up, I don't want to waste time assembling a working head unit; and the spares kit does not include a CPU (IIRC). A good chunk of money can be saved if you can convince Netapp to sell you a chassis without any software licenses. ;-)
