No, and yes. If you have enough disks to make a volume just as large as this one you can "vol copy" the root volume. Make the second volume a root volume while renaming this one and offlining the original. Then, you reboot and destroy the original volume. Beware of "stale NFS filehandles." I suggested to NetApp several times that it would be nice to be able to also copy the "magic" that is used for file handle generation (one part of which is the inode number) to make such operation transparent to the NFS clients. This procedure is currently either impossible, undocumented, or I simply did not come across it yet.
