Hi guys,
I've just received an FAS6030 cluster.
The system shipped with ONTAP 7.2. I've upgraded the system to 7.2.1.1
bfiler09> version -b 1:/x86_64/kernel/primary.krn: OS 7.2.1.1 1:/backup/x86_64/kernel/primary.krn: OS 7.2 1:/x86_64/diag/diag.krn: 4.7 1:/x86_64/firmware/excelsio/firmware.img: Firmware 1.2.0 1:/x86_64/firmware/DrWho/firmware.img: Firmware 2.0.0 1:/boot/loader: Loader 1.2.1
Do you guys have much experience of disk ownership. On our FAS940 clusters, disk ownership was hardware based.
FAS6030> disk show -v DISK OWNER POOL SERIAL NUMBER ------------ ------------- ----- ------------- 0e.40 FAS6030 (118041055) Pool0 ZAKTSGAH
Tue Feb 20 11:13:43 GMT [localhost: diskown.isEnabled:info]: replayed event: software ownership has been enabled for this system
Despite reading the below Netapp doc, I'm no closer to making a decision as to whether to retain the disk ownership option or remove it from my system.

Any feedback on the topic would be much appreciated.
Thanks alot, Philip
