Have a situation I do not fully understand.
Have an NTFS volume - contains mostly home drives. This volume is snapvaulted to a nearstore. The nearstore is backed up via NDMP.
Had to change the ACL at the volume level (boss's orders). Granted an existing group change access. I knew this would increase the size of the backups due to changing ACLs on the whole volume.
What I don't understand is that the size of the incremental backups have not gone back to "normal" since I made the change. Thoughts?
I think this is normal behavior. A level N dump saves all changes since the most recent dump whose level is *less than* N. Have you performed any dumps with a level less than N since you changed all the ACLs?
You may want to just do a full dump to get all your incrementals back to a reasonable size.
