is DNS enabled?
the command dns info will tell you if not ? then type qtree to see what security type you are using (ntfs or unix)

Hello,
Is the C$ visible when you run cifs shares command on the filer through the console? Are you mapping using the hostname or the ip address? (use ip address if DNS is not setup)?
