While most have pointed out that mixing them is supported, depending on the version of ONTAP you are running, I'd recommend replacing the AT-FC2 shelves with AT-FCX anyways (nevermind the multipathing capabilities): there are a few burst out there that are fixed in ONTAP 7.2.2 (upgrading is another option) that affects system performance during drive failure. We've been bit several times by the bugs and after the upgrade to AT-FCX (we're planning on moving to clustered FAS3050s), they have subsided. While it affects both AT-FC and AT-FC2 modules, it was most frequent on the AT-FC modules.

We currently have an R200 with six AT-FC2 shelves. We want to add three AT-FCX shelves. Currently, we only have two loops and the AT-FC2's are spread across both of them. Should I move all of the AT-FC2's onto one loop and put the AT-FCX shelves on the other loop or just add the AT-FCX's to the current loops?
Thanks,
