Excluding files from NDMP backup

Is there a way to exclude files from an NDMP backup? By this I'm asking both (1) A subdirectory of a volume or qtree that's being backed up (2) Files with specific extensions (e.g. *.pst files so you don't back up Exchange email archives)

We're using Veritas NetBackup 3.4.
