The hosts.equiv file is case sensitive to the case of the user name. should read: hostname username
The hostname needs to be resolvable, so host file entry helps.
The rsh command could be improved with the -l username perameter.
rsh filername -l username command
Thanks, but this is a NetCache box, not a filer, and unless I'm missing something (am I???) it does not have a hosts.equiv file...
