If the dump/restore commands works fine, but not NDMP -- I would suggest that you check for network problems. You may want to telnet to your netapp port 10000 from your netbackup-server.
You ought to see something like the example below:
% telnet <netapp> 10000 Trying 10.10.10.10... Connected to <netapp> Escape character is '^]'. ;£Connection successful ^C quit ]]^C^C^CConnection closed by foreign host.
If this works, then there may be a problem with the configuration of the software. And there is, unfortunately too numerous, pitfalls one may step into.
