Do you use IP addresses in the 10.0.0.0 subnet? Another group handles routing so some of these issues are unknown to me. I have heard that the 10.0.0.0 subnet is special, though I don't know why.
You do not need to use in.routed for this at all, although you will have to use the 'route' command to add a route for the NetApps private ip address to the routing table on the Sun.
