I run the same thing here. I have been backing up our systems using veritas netbackup 3.2 GA using a spectralogic 10000 for several months now. It was easy to set up but it seems veritas doesn't handle bad tapes well. I've had to power cycle the tape unit but other than that it runs great. Restoring is fast enough and the Bullfrog holds 40 8mm tapes so I don't have to worry about switching tapes weekly.
Linda: I once backed up our filer using veritas netbackup for NDMP. What do you need to know about backing up using NDMP?

Speaking of backup solutions, is anyone out there using NDMP to back up a filer?

Configuring the Media servers and filers take a bit of time, but once that is established, there have been few problems. Occasionally I have had to reboot the filer and associated SpectraLogic, but have not been able to nail the problem down to which one is causing the problem. I have a f740 filer currently being backed up with one DLT7000 tape drive. I'm tired of switching tapes. Does anyone have any experience with either "Sync Sort or Workstation Solutions" as the software to backup a filer? I am looking to use Spectra Logic products on the hardware side. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
