what's the security settings on the volume/qtree? It may be set to unix. Change it to ntfs. run the command qtree security on that volume to see and change the settings. -G

NOw from windows I am unable to see folder permissions in the new volume. In the old volume I am able to see the permission and everything is working fine in the old volume
