Yes, loss of SCSI/FibreChannel connectivity or power to a shelfwill cause the filer to halt or reboot (I forget exactly which... it's been a while since we did our failure mode testing). No data is lost.
halt, which makes sense, since if the shelf was still powered down, or the loop broken, it would have to repeat the same cycle on reboot.
