That is just the other extreme. Normally you would have behavior someplace in the middle. All I was trying to say is that the performance will not change as drastically as you described. It will change, but the extent to which one is affected depends on his mix of ops. I haven't gotten around to carefully studying our netapp performance because our network did not perform consistently enough to be able to isolate the netapp factor. In fact, I think the network actually limited the netapp performance.
