Ah, someone's patience ran out before mine did. I can tell you it was a close thing...
Toasters has had a bad record of letting though spam for a long time now, but in the last month or two it has become much much worse. (It may be that is because it is being targetted, of course.) Really, you know, mailing lists don't have to be like that, and most aren't.
But it's still more than "just a spam resource", I think. Which is why I haven't unsubscribed. Yet.
