Thanks,
that drove me into the right direction – I was under the assumption, that some basic components are missing or failing here because I wasn’t even able to run it on the command line – my bad. I did now add –report and –reportdir to the script file which gets executed by VSC and am getting reports now, still not working but that’s because I’m using a private subnet for mounting the datastores which is not accessible from the VC server and am now playing with options (-svip, -noping, etc.).
Will see how it goes, if it still doesn’t work, I’ll get back to you ☺ Thanks again for the hints!

Hi , alex
Looks your script is good, would you please try to run it with –verbose –report -reportdir switch to have more information for troubleshooting?
Here is my example:
C:"Program Files"\NetApp"Virtual Storage Console"\smvi\server\scripts\sv-smvi.exe -svuser root -svpasswd password -verbose -report -reportdir C:\NetApp\sv_smvi_log
And please makesure you have your snapvault initializated and filer hostname written to your vcenter ‘s host file or your dns is configured correctly.
And the script should trigger only within VSC(normally SMVI), it will need SMVI to transfer the volume name and snapname to the script, or it could run with nothing.
Good luck

Hi,
sure, this is it (just changed the password):
"%PROGRAMFILES%\NetApp\SV-SMVI\sv-smvi.exe" -svuser root -svpasswd password
The file (sv-smvi.exe) exists in this directory and when I call it manually f.ex. (outside of the VSC post-script environment), it looks like this:
C:\Program Files\NetApp\SV-SMVI>sv-smvi.exe -svuser root -svpasswd password -verbose -debug runExit(): ----------------------------------------------------- runExit(): Exiting with return code: 0
C:\Program Files\NetApp\SV-SMVI>

May I see you smvi.bat?

does anyone have experience with the sv-smvi script which can be used to support SnapVault in VSC Backups? I’m having some troubles with getting it running at all, no matter what I do, it always just exits with return code 0, even when I use the –verbose or –debug switches, it also does not write report files. Even if I’m giving it wrong user/password combinations, it still only exits with return code 0 and that’s about it then.
Thanks,
