What I'm afraid of, is that if you have 200 users logged in your box, you will have 200 mountpoints, one mountpoint per each holy user!!! I really feel bad about it. Am I wrong?
If you use amd for example, you can use the "sublink" option so that the mount points end up being 1 level higher than the user. You end up with the same number of links from /homes/username -> /amd_mnt/MOUNT/username
but you only end up with 1 NFS mount per remote "home-root" on the filer.
Works pretty well if you expect lots of users. I presume the native automounter has similar functionality.
