Legato Networker

1 F630 ~100gig 1 F630 ~200gig 1 F220 ~50gig

Network

Backup via switched FD 100baseT. We are moving to a gigabit backend for NFS/backups in the near future.
|Do you use ndmp?
A few times for filer --> filer copies
|How many streams of backup do you use in parallel?
I believe we use 4 streams to 2 drives. A DLT4700 and a DLT4000.
|What speed/rate do you backup (GB/Hr) per drive?
Not entirely sure on this one. I can find out though.
|Do you utilize more than one tape drive for backups?
Yes.
|Have you needed to restore a file system?
Yes.
|If so, how long did it take you (GB/Hr) ?
Too damned long.
|Were you able to retore in parallel streams?
Yes.
We very much look forward to Legato working natively on our netapps. Right now we just NFS mount the partitions to our tapehost and back them up that way. Not ideal.
