Dump uses both mtime and ctime.
There is an option to dump to ignore any ctime changes (often caused by virus scanning products).
Similarly, on the filer you can specify console> ndmpd ignore_ctime
and any dump started via NDMP will only check the mtime.

does dump look at the m-date? before i bug my ndmp vendor i want to do some checking myself.
