In actual fact, SSO for NDMP is supported in 6.0 as well.
6.5 still doesn't support multiple copies from the schedule, and it doesn't work with the new storage lifecycles either which replicate some of the functionality of InLine copy. It'll let you configure the policy to go to a storage lifecycle but it will then error when you try and backup NDMP to it.
The only way around to get something like this would be to take two backups of the same data at the same time from either the same or different policies, but obviously this would double the backup load on the filer. InLine copy does a single read and multiple writes which this method would not do.
Cheers
Chris

Not in 6.0 either, I'm not sure if it isnt for 6.5. They changed a lot of stuff in the way a NDMP STU works in NetBackup 6.5, since drive sharing (SSO) now also is supported for NDMP.

Hi George.
Unfortuneatly, Inline Tape Copy is not an available option using NDMP. (at least in NBU 5.x...as far as I know, there's been no change on that for 6.x)

Hello, I haven't checked with Netapp yet, but would anyone here know if it is possible to have a ndmp backup going to two tape drives , thus creating a duplicate copy ?
I have a dual port HBA for the tape drive(s) on a FAS3040 head with DOT 7.2.2. The drives are IBM LTO3s and the backup software is NetBackup version 6.0MP4.
I would like to add a second tape drive on the the HBA and do the in-line tape copy rather then duplicating the data at a later time.
Thanks, George Kahler York University
