Hey Tim! The free hardcopies that came with every filer were discontinued back then, partly as a cost savings, but mostly because some customers, especially those with lots of filers, pointed out the mass of paper (=trees) being wasted.
As a replacement, NetApp instituted free copies via print-on-demand service through NOW, on the same page where you download pdf/html. I just checked - they're still free.

This started before I left NetApp in 2005. Presumably a cost-cutting mechanism...most people can use the on-line docs at now or download and install on your NetApp.
You can also print your own copies out and have them bound locally or pay NetApp a fee to send you hard copies.
