Some tips (not all might be applicable to you)
* unpack and run it in a 'compressed' directory o I wanted the sim to be fast and installed it on my 128GB SSD. While still zeroing the drives I got a 'disk full' error (more than one sim... - and Cluster-Mode also). Switched on 'compression'. Now I've got 162GB compressed to 16.9GB... * If you need more than one sim, use VMware clones if possible o That's why I still have an original 'never booted up' image lying around... o Make a clone from untouched original image o _On clone_: change serial, reassign disks, initialize, ... o => 2 + 2 Cluster-Mode sims: 129GB - compressed to 5.2 GB

We do run vSphere here but the old simulator required the NICs to run in promiscuous mode, is that still the case? If so, I'm not inclined to put the sim on our production VM farm as it would mean tweaking production network interfaces.
