I agree that the hardware specifications are a touch hard to find on the main NetApp web site, and I forwarded that comment to some marketing folks. It takes a few clicks to find the details on the specific models, but the A-Series is right there under "Data Storage". NetApp hardware is 100% alive, well, growing, and advancing.
Speaking for myself, I don't think physical storage will always be a critical part of any storage vendor's business. Yes, Cloud is important, but I'm an enterprise workload guy, and 99% of the projects I work with require bleeding edge technology and performance. There will always be a lag in that sort of technology between on-prem and Cloud providers. I'd guess about 50% of all the projects I see require on-premise performance. It's often literally impossible to get required the IOPS and latency requirements from any hyperscaler provider. They are constantly improving, of course, but so is on-premise technology, and a lot of customers demand the best possible performance and/or control. That means bare metal hardware. Usually that means buying and installing it yourself, but hyperscalers also offer bare metal services for extreme requirements. NetApp is often the foundation of those offerings.

I just purchased one, so I'd say yes, they do - at least for now. If they ever stop doing so, they will lose a customer here.

Subject: Does NetApp still sell physical file servers?
Good day from Singapore,
Does NetApp still sell physical file servers?
I read from Wikipedia that NetApp, Inc. is an American hybrid cloud data services and data management company headquartered in San Jose, California. It has ranked in the Fortune 500 from 2012–2021. Founded in 1992 with an IPO in 1995, NetApp offers cloud data services for management of applications and data both online and physically.
I see that NetApp has ventured into the cloud.
Thank you.
