when CS is configured/installed, you will be asked to enter a username/password which is used to establish a connection with the filer. that username must be in the filer\backup-operators group (note--NOT domain\backup-operators).
the filer's builtin\admins also are automatically given this capability. domain admin is added to filer's admin group by default when CIFS is set up on the filer, so unless you have done something, a domain admin is a user that will work.
the concept behind this is that a backup-operator has the power to access files despite file security, can crash through locks held by other openers, etc. these are the sorts of capabilities that an AV scanner needs.

I have just installed the eval copy of CarrierScan on one of my win2000 servers, it installs successfully but fails to register with the Filer. Has anyone running CarrierScan encountered a problem like this?
