I asked NetApp the same question. The response I got was that WAT is only necessary for 6.0.0 only. So you don't need to run it for any of the current versions.

A few months ago Netapp had me run a tool called WAT to determine whether or not my filers (F760's) could be upgraded to 6.0. I can't find any mention of that tool on now.netapp.com. Does Netapp still recommend running it, and if so, where can I get it?
