We've been using them since Feb-March of this year. We got 2 Overland LoaderExpress 810's (DLT 8000 drive w/10 slot changer).
The only problems we're run up against is some of our older tapes written by a DLT 4000 would cause the 8000 to have trouble identifying the format, and it would take 3-5 minutes before giving up. This would cause massive problems with Budtool.
Don't know if that's a problem with Overland or with the DLT 8000 drive. Since they were scratch tapes, I don't know if I could of gotten any info off of them or not, but if I just wrote to the tape and overwrote the header then the tape would work.
Also, this has only happened on a few tapes - most of our tapes written by our older DLT4000 have worked fine, and Overland data was unable to create the problem in their lab (and I wasn't allowed to send in one of our tapes for them to test), so I never got a final answer on this problem.
But with new tapes (and most tapes), they're great!

Has anybody used DLT8000 so far? Any bad/good experiences with this technology?
Thanks in advance.
