Maybe I should not say this and..here :-) But I work with a company that is the major NetApp reseller here in Italy and, sometimes, for IBM too...
I know very well the "N" series products from IBM (for I knew the NetApp...) and they are PERFECTLY NetApp filer and vfiler rebranded with Data Ontap that changes only for the "IBM" printout in "sysconfig" :-) They're so identical that you can "snapmirror" from a NetApp to an IBM and viceversa, and you can use licenses from NetApp on an IBM and viceversa (!)... never tried to "download" software from NetApp to an IBM or viceversa but I'm quite sure it should work ;-)

I don't know anything about AS/400 but if it can do NFS it should have no problems working with a NetApp box. I seem to recall IBM selling a re-badged NetApp. Just went and looked also. The N3000 box lists Data ONTAP plain as day.

Toasters: Are any of you (or know of anyone) running AS/400 system with storage on NetApp? If so, how is the configuration? What is your experience? I haven't found much support for it both off NOW and searching publicly...
