Hey there,
Today I was trying to find out, why with newer OnTap versions, new volumes created do not have the create_ucode = on setting anymore and I found out that it might have something to do what and when licenses are installed on the system.
If no block level license (iscsi or fcp) is installed during setup, the root volume gets created with the create_ucode setting set to off and since all new volumes seem to inherit their settings from the root volume, they also will have create_ucode set to off.
I did now set create_ucode = on on the root volume to make sure all new volumes get created with the option set to on also, that works, but I'm wondering if I need to be careful about setting create_ucode = on on already existing NFS, CIFS and iSCSI/FCP volumes. Does anyone know if that could cause troubles?
Bye,
