Jim and Mark, I'm sorry to confirm that there is no way to bring the file forward into the active file system without copying it. The process that Mark refers to of reverting to a previous snapshot will be productized and documented in a forthcoming release, but it is an all or nothing proposition. We have been storing up ideas for snapshot enhancements and I'll add you ideas to the list.
