Hi,
thanks, I was aware of the availability of snapmirror but that’s not nondisruptive as far as I know – but I’ll have a look.
Thanks,

Hi. If you have access to fieldportal.netapp.comhttp://fieldportal.netapp.com/ you can read Clustered Data ONTAP Unified Transition Methodology Playbook for NetApp Partners https://fieldportal.netapp.com/?oparams=224360 One of the ways to migrate iSCSI and FC LUNs is to use SnapMirror. Even if you don't have licenses, you can always obtain evaluation license.

we’re getting a new FAS8020 during the next weeks and my task now is to move all the data on our current 7 mode filers onto the new one. I’ve already made non disruptive plans for the VMware datastores and all the NFS shares, so that’s not an issue anymore – but I’m wondering about how to non disruptively migrate my iSCSI LUNs presented to my microsoft failover clusters.
Any ideas on that? I’m thinking about setting up some kind of software RAID 1 (if that’s supported) on the host side with the new and the old LUNs like we did back in the good old days when we used Veritas volume manager on EMC boxes, but I’m not sure if that’s a supported scenario.
I’m pretty sure some of you have gone through that already so I would be thankful for any ideas in that regard.
Best,
