Just curious if anyone is running a virus scanner against filers for CIFS?
Regular and routine scanning of filer-resident data with a commercial AV scanner is definately a good idea. As you might expect, filers run the company here from the data infrastructure perspective, and our own IT folk implement just such a regimen as a component of that.
Don't forget the "secret" snapshot/snaprestore antivirus weapon though. It's saved a great many people a great deal of grief when viruses hit, including ourselves. Take a look:
