Just because it worked on the 270 doe not mean it will work on the FAS3040. To the best of my knowlege, they are differnt FC initiators on the filer side, which means a slight difference in the way they likely communicate.
So, the Scalar 100, are the tape drives native fiber to the filer or is there a FC-SCSI bridge? If there is a bridge, then that could be the issue. The ADIC side likely talks at 1 or 2Gb/sec. Not sure if it is possible, but you could look into forcing the NetApp side to match the FC speed on the library.

We have the quad port card on the 3040 and the tape library is connected port D
They are setup as Initiator
No masking that we are aware of.
The library is a adic scalar 100 with SDLT 320 drives, the firmware is not current, but this unit worked fine on the FAS270 cluster without any problems, both the FAS270 and the new 3040 are both running 7.22
Its not officaially supported, but the same type of library works on our DR site.
Sysconfig -t doesn't show any tape drives.
Thanks

what are you plugging the tapes to? Are the FC ports configured for Initiator or target mode?
Did someone setup any type of masking on the Tape Library?
What type of Library is it? What kind of tape drives? Is the firmware current? is the firmware current on the tape Drives? Are the tape drives supported on the FAS3040 heads?

Hello all,
Please accept my apologies if I appear stupid, but Fibre Channel is
not
something I know a lot about.
Previously we had a clustered FAS270, each head had 1 FC tape connection, with each one connecting back to a single ADIC tape
library.
At the weekend this was upgraded to a 3040 cluster, and now neither of the 3040 heads see the tape library. Both heads again are connected directly to the tape library as they were with the 270's. There are no fibre channel switches involved.
It would be of great help if anyone could point me in the right direction in troubleshooting this. As NetApp don't appear to be of
great
help.
Thanks
Matt
