Well, how big is the "uk" group, or the group just before it? Maybe more than 512 characters? 1024 characters? Some sort of boundary along those lines.
How would you increase the buffer anyway ? Presumably, its an option in the rc file...
You can't. This is why I said you'd have to get Netapp to release a patch or new release with a larger buffer. Assuming, of course, that the Netapp's buffer is really too small; as I said, it could be that the buffer is in line with what your NIS master can handle but you've gone beyond that limit.
