Completely agree; automatic exports, and especially automatic editing of the exports file is a very bad idea. and, for those of us with RCS or CVS for our filer config files, the editing of /etc/exports is done without checking out the file first. really, REALLY annoying.
also note that "vol create <VOL> -n", which is suppsoed to tell you what vol create *would* do, doesn't tell you that it would edit /etc/exports.
NetApp, please remove this feature, or give me a way to disable it.
