Hints: be sure to turn on snmp with "snmp init 1" turn traps on with "snmp traps on" set the traphost with "snmp traphost add <host>"
Notes: traps were introduced in 5.3 you have to get stuff right on the Openview end too
If these don't solve your problem, please open a call with NetApp support. They should be able to help you nail it down.

Is anyone using Openview to receive traps from a 740 filer? We have installed the MIB file into Openview on a Sun box and added several snmp traps to the /etc/rc file on the filer. If we pull a power supply a trap should be sent to Openview for translation and then send a page informing me of a problem. We are not seeing any traps from the filer but Netapps said this should work. If you have in input on our problem please send me a message. Your help in this matter is greatly appreciated
