for performance reason, netapp still didn't allow fine quotas under qtree for different subdirectory you can only set a quota for a qtree (first level directory) - and combination of qtree/user/group
it appear that netapp let third party tools take this feature into their work (like virus scanning with external av server)

you can also make a capacity planing and a per user/application consumption tracking
