I appreciate that the fellow at teaparty.net http://teaparty.net for hosting this.
That being said it sends a political message that isn't intended for the NetApp community. I know its not related, but by looking at the url, external folks wouldn't know that.
Would it be possible to host this on google groups instead of moving from one boutique mailing list hosting service to another? Just a thought.
Just figure I should throw out an opposing view here.
It doesn't send a political message; you wrongly assign one. Spending 3 seconds to actually check out the host makes it quite clear it's not politically affiliated. Personally, I wouldn't miss anyone ignorant enough avoid the list based on assumed political beliefs of the host. I strongly disagree with host politically, but I'll still talk toasters with him and anyone else on the list regardless of political stance. If you can't separate toasters from politics... <shrug>
It's not a boutique mailing list host, it's the personal domain of one of the list admins. While I love Google myself, it's certainly quite possible to view Google as "boutique-ish." A few years ago, Yahoo Groups were all the rage, now it seems Google is making noise in that area.
I am curious to know if the considerable archives from the Mathworks host will be migrated to the new host. It would be nice to maintain this history with the new host. This seems to be a trivial task for Majordomo to Mailman. Google groups doesn't seem to have any support for this.
