Netapp Filer as a syslog master host.
I want to set our 200+ unix servers to send all their syslog messages/data to the netapp and then archive all the data to a Snaplock Volume.
Other things that would make it better
- The netapp could do make a snap lock volume every week and keep it for x number of years.
- The netapp can have a seperate qtree for each host sysloging to it.
- Different data retention periods for different classes of hosts
