In the absence of any howls of protest, my personal feeling is that it's fine, as long as it's a once-off informational post, and the vacancy is big on NetApp-related duties (ie, you don't just want a general-purpose sysadmin who must occasionally cuddle your toaster).
If you have feelings either way, please, just email me *personally* some time in the next week. I'll keep a tally, and if there's a strong preponderance either way, that's how I'll go.
I have had a total of eight responses, which have broken down 6 in favour and 2 against. So: one-off informational posts, by list members, about netapp-specific vacancies at their sites are OK; but see also below.
Posts by headhunters and recruiters are explicitly NOT OK (almost all responders were very clear about that) and I will suspend anyone posting them. If you find yourself posting jobs here more than once in a blue moon, consider carefully whether you might be becoming one such. If the volume from this becomes too high, we will revisit the policy at that time.
One person noted that it would be polite (and aid filtering) if job postings all had "Job Posting" in the subject line, and my personal feeling is that's a good idea.
(And if you have issues with posting to the list, replying, the colour of my server, whatever, please bring them to me directly instead of posting meta-questions to the list (that is, questions about the list itself, rather than questions about netapps).)
