We bought RAM and NVRAM a few months ago for our F220. Note these part numbers below are probably only good for the F220. Research before upgrading on your own!
For comparision sake:
NVRAM Dallas Semiconductor - 214-450-0429 Part #90-2229T-070 $84 per meg as of 12/9/97
RAM Kingston RAM via Spectrum Trading - 408-655-4000 Part #KTM8X36L-60G (8Mx36, 60ns, gold) $172 per 32 meg as of 12/8/97
Each of these vendors assured us the products were well tested before being sent to us and we have had zero problems as a result of using them.:
Thu Mar 26 08:00:19 PST [statd]: 8:00am up 102 days, 6:21 2777057436 NFS ops
As an aside, you gotta love the uptimes these NetApps can produce! Anyone have more than a year of uptime? Show us your amazing stats!
For normal RAM, think very seriously before buying anything but Kingston. Normal RAM varies widely in quality.

We just paid NetApp $4000 to up the NVRAM on our F330 from 2MB to
8MB. That's over $650 for each 1MB SIMM! When I asked our Sales Rep about the cost, I was quoted the "We do in house testing" line. Anyway, two of the SIMMs we were sent were bad... Very disappointing.
I think it'd work out best for everyone if they just published a
list of "approved" vendors for memory and disk. The customers would get a better price, and NetApp would look alot nicer.
