Does anyone know of a way to tell if files in a snapshot have been used for recovery and how often? My guess is that this could be done by capturing file access statistics on the filer.
We are trying to keep snapshots online as long as they are needed, but also trying to not waste space by retaining snapshots too long.
If anyone from Netapp is listening and there is not a way to capture these statistics, it would be a good thing to add - Hint, Hint!
