depends on your shelfs i think mk2 can be up to 4 or 8 according the LRC/ESH module
have a look here : http://now.netapp.com/NOW/knowledge/docs/hardware/NetApp/syscfg/ choose your ontapp version then select your filer and select disk shelves
you probably can read : << *Note:* When the disk shelf has LRCs, the maximum number of disk shelves per loop is four.
-> understand "8 shelves otherwise"... as i read it from another machine/ontapp page
<< *Note:* When the disk shelf has ESHs, the maximum number of disk shelves per loop is six and the first shelf in the loop must have optical modules.
