Other ways to potentially deal with this? I suppose using horizontal CDU's could work as well.
There are extra wide racks that enable the PDUs to be mounted outside of the 19" mounting brackets. We have some from APC and some from Ericson and they both leave the full 19" width clear of the PDUs and power cords.
Even with the extra deep racks, you can run into issues pulling out system boards and IOXMs since they are nearly the full 19" wide.
