So I’m back, after retiring NetApps at a client site, 12 months ago, we’ve got another one, a FAS2820.
Anyway so my question, in this modern world we thought we would implement Ontap Tools for VMware vSphere 10.2, this is a little different to the VSC, which we didn’t really use before.
Very quickly come across an error message 401 Unauthorised Error for Session, this is when trying to apply NFS settings to each host which are not compliant, I’m surprised this error message appears, because the appliance is registered with vCenter Server as Administrator@vsphere.localmailto:Administrator@vsphere.local equivalent service account, so it has all the permissions it requires to make changes to the ESXi host config.
To be honest with you it will be moot shortly, because we will just script all hosts the correct NFS compliance settings.
BUT, not sure if this is connected that OTV will not create datastores, it also fails at 30%, with a failure.
Regards
Andrew
PS Raised to NetApp support, but things are very slow, and they just like to keep asking me questions, and then transfer to another Op, which repeats the questions, other than then asking for screenshots of the error message!
